Safety at Superphysio

Safer home physiotherapy starts with clear rules and traceable bookings

Superphysio brings patients and physiotherapists together through confirmed online bookings, secure payment records and clear professional conduct standards.

How it works

How Superphysio supports safer bookings

Verified physiotherapist profiles

We review a physiotherapist’s submitted qualifications and professional information before their profile goes live. Patients can also view their experience, areas served, specialties and session fee before booking.

Confirmed online bookings

Appointments are booked and paid for through Superphysio, creating a clear record of the patient, physiotherapist, appointment time and payment.

Contact details are not public

A physiotherapist’s phone number is not displayed publicly. It is shared with the patient only after a booking has been confirmed and paid for.

Clear conduct standards

Patients and physiotherapists must communicate respectfully and keep every interaction focused on professional healthcare. Inappropriate conduct can be reported to Superphysio.

Safety for patients

For patients receiving care at home

  • Review the physiotherapist's profile, qualifications, experience and fee before booking.
  • Ensure that the treatment address and patient information are accurate.
  • Keep an appropriate, clean and accessible space ready for the session.
  • Inform Superphysio if the person receiving treatment is different from the person making the booking.
  • Ask questions and provide consent before assessment or treatment.
  • Report conduct that feels inappropriate, unsafe or unprofessional.

Safety for physiotherapists

For physiotherapists providing home visits

  • You decide the service areas, availability and session fee shown on your profile.
  • Patients must book and pay before receiving your phone number.
  • You may decline a booking or end a session if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
  • A patient's personal contact details must only be used for their care and booking.
  • Reporting a genuine safety concern will not negatively affect your profile or visibility.
  • Urgent or inappropriate behaviour can be reported through Superphysio.

Consent

Professional boundaries protect everyone

Physiotherapy can involve physical assessment and contact. The physiotherapist should explain the assessment or treatment and obtain the patient’s consent. Patients should communicate discomfort, ask questions and withdraw consent at any time. Neither party should make sexual, romantic, threatening or personally intrusive comments or requests.

Our process

What happens when a concern is reported?

  1. We receive the report

The reporter provides the booking details and explains what happened.

  2. We prevent unnecessary contact

Where appropriate and technically possible, we restrict further communication between the people involved while the concern is reviewed.

  3. We review available information

We may review booking, payment and communication information available to Superphysio and contact the reporter for clarification.

  4. We take appropriate action

Depending on the circumstances, action may include a warning, booking restriction, temporary suspension or permanent removal from Superphysio.

We protect the identity and personal information of the person reporting a concern and only use or disclose it in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
